During a meeting with members of the special commission under the government, the mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, announced plans to optimize the buffer zone around Suleiman-Too. This will free up areas for the needs of the city.

The commission includes historians, archaeologists, specialists from the scientific community, and employees of the Ministry of Culture, as well as the head of the "Suleiman-Too" museum. A technical justification is currently being developed for the application to UNESCO.

According to Toktorbaev, the revision of the buffer zone boundaries is necessary for the development of the city's infrastructure.

“There are no free plots for new construction in Osh. We are trying to develop, but there are many protected areas around. This issue needs to be resolved; otherwise, the city will not be able to expand. We need to build upwards, but there are outdated buildings around the mountains. The owners of these buildings are inflating prices, and we need to find a way out of this situation. We hope to renew this area, stretching from the mountain to the bus station. This will be a new Osh. We do not intend to take the mountain; let it remain in its pristine form,” the mayor noted.
