At 5:00 AM, the head of the Main Department for Ensuring Road Safety of Kyrgyzstan, Azenbek Kozukeev, conducted an unexpected inspection at the "Sosnovka" post located on the Bishkek–Osh highway. During the visit, he criticized the inspectors who were in their offices instead of performing their duties on the road and ordered an internal investigation.
Kozukeev noted: "Have you imposed restrictions for heavy trucks? While you sit in the office, they can pass. The work schedule should be reconsidered: in such weather, work should start not at 8 AM but at 7. Get out on the road, conduct preventive measures with drivers, warn them about violations. If the grader is working alone, arrange for its escort," he added.
Additionally, he instructed the inspectors to monitor vehicles with illegible license plates so that they could be captured by the "Safe Country" system cameras and to require drivers to correct their plates.
Kozukeev also spoke with drivers, emphasizing the importance of preventive work. He urged them to exercise caution on the road, maintain distance, not exceed speed limits, and use seat belts. Special attention was given to heavy truck drivers, who were called upon to strictly adhere to restrictions to avoid traffic jams at the pass.
