The deadline for taxi license checks has been extended to February 1, 2026, according to information provided by the Department of Road Safety of the Osh region.

Previously, taxi drivers expressed dissatisfaction due to significant queues at the GUOBDD (State Traffic Safety Department) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which hindered many from obtaining their licenses within the established timeframe.

In response to these concerns, Police Colonel Azenbek Kozukeev, head of the Main Department of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, held a meeting with drivers who are in the process of obtaining licenses. He issued instructions to eliminate queues and improve conditions for drivers.

Considering the issues that have arisen, Kozukeev announced the extension of operating hours for institutions on Saturdays and a reduction in lunch break times. He also confirmed that license checks and raid activities with the possibility of imposing fines will continue until February 1, 2026.

Work for drivers using taxi service applications (Taxi Order Information System) will not be suspended until the specified date.

Issuance of licenses for taxis will continue in all GUOBDD departments.
