Over the past ten days, heavy rains and snowfalls have been observed in Kara-Kul. As a result of this phenomenon, ice deposits formed on electrical wires, and at night, trees, unable to bear their weight, fell, leading to power outages in various areas of the city.

According to local residents, despite the time of day — around three in the morning — and the continuous precipitation, the electrical network workers quickly responded to emergency situations, going to the scenes of incidents and carrying out restoration work to ensure light in the homes of the citizens.

Additionally, the adverse weather conditions and strong winds caused the backup power supply, which serviced the telecommunications tower located about 18 kilometers from the city center, to be disconnected. Electricians had to reach the site on foot and on horseback, as vehicle access is impossible in winter. Despite the challenging conditions, including snowfall and blizzards, they managed to restore the power supply.

The accident occurred because, under the influence of strong winds, an electrical wire came loose from the insulator and touched other wires. The telecommunications tower is located in a remote mountainous area on the Güdü pasture. In winter, reaching this location is extremely difficult due to deep snow and significant distance, so the only available means of transportation remains horseback riding along challenging routes.
