On December 22, a solemn event dedicated to energy sector workers took place in Kara-Kul, located in the Jalal-Abad region.

Attending the ceremony were Deputy Mayor Manas Abdykalikov, Chairman of the City Council Chyngyz Kimsanov, representatives of the Jalal-Abad Electric Networks Enterprise, and employees of the Kara-Kul District Electric Enterprise.

During the event, honorary certificates, letters of gratitude, and badges from the Ministry of Energy, as well as from the mayor's office and the city council of Kara-Kul, were awarded to those who have worked for many years in the energy sector.

Participants noted that Kara-Kul is a city of energy workers, where professionals from this field are often found in families.

Energy Day is celebrated on the shortest day of the year, when the load on the energy system is at its highest. This date was established in 1966 by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and is associated with the adoption of the electrification plan at the VIII All-Russian Congress of Soviets in 1920.

The construction of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station began in 1962, and the first and second units were put into operation in 1975.
