In Kara-Kul, located in the Jalal-Abad region, the funeral of Koshbay Masirov, who previously held the position of governor, took place on November 21.

Representatives of the local administration, as well as prominent public and state figures, including former Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiev, honored him with their presence, along with respected workers in the energy sector and local residents.
It is worth noting that Koshbay Masirov passed away on November 19, 2025, just short of his 74th birthday.



Koshbay Masirov was born on May 9, 1951.

From 1969 to 1970, he worked as an electrical installer at the enterprise "Hydroelektromontazh" in Kazakhstan.

From 1970 to 1972, he served in the Soviet Army.

From 1972 to 1977, he worked as a locksmith at the "Naryngidroenergo-stroy" management.

In 1976, he completed his studies at the Frunze Polytechnic Institute, obtaining a degree in "Energy Engineering".

Since 1977, Masirov became the secretary of the Komsomol committee at the "Naryngidroenergo-stroy" management.

From 1980 to 1983, he held the position of head of the department of the Talas Regional Committee of the Komsomol of the Kyrgyz SSR.

From 1983 to 1987, he worked as the head of the department in the Kara-Kul City Committee of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR.

Then, from 1987 to 1988, he was the secretary of the party committee of the "Naryngidroenergo-stroy" management.

From 1988 to 1990, Masirov served as the second secretary of the Kara-Kul City Committee of the Communist Party.

From 1990 to 1992, he worked as the chairman of the executive committee of the city of Kara-Kul.

From 1992 to 1996, he was the akim of the Kara-Kul City State Administration.

In 1999-2000, he held the position of first deputy head of the state administration of the Moscow district of the Chui region.

From 2001 to 2004, he worked as the general director of JSC "Naryngidroenergo-stroy".

In 2004-2005, he headed the executive council of LLC "KOEZ", and from 2005 to 2008, he served as the head of the state administration of the Moscow district of the Chui region.

From 2008 to 2010, he acted as the governor of the Jalal-Abad region.

Koshbay Masirov became one of the initiators of introducing a 15% additional coefficient to the salaries of workers in the city of Kara-Kul, which was classified as a remote area.

He was awarded the title of "Honored Builder of the Kyrgyz Republic" and received a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR, the Order of Friendship of Peoples, and a Certificate of Honor from the Kyrgyz Republic.

Masirov was also repeatedly elected as a deputy of the Kara-Kul City Kenesh.
