Retired Emergency Situations Ministry Employee, Chernobyl Disaster Liquidator Djoldoshbay Amanbekov Has Passed Away

At the age of 73, Dzholdoshbay Dzhamanbaevich Amanbekov, a pensioner of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, passed away.

Amanbekov was born on April 7, 1953, in the Toktogul district.

After receiving his secondary education, he studied chemistry and completed his training at a higher military school, after which he began his service in the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Russia, rising from platoon commander to regiment commander.

During his service in Tajikistan, he also graduated from a special academy in Moscow for further training. In 1986, he was involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster.

With the independence of Kyrgyzstan in 1992, Amanbekov became one of the first to be invited to serve in the republic.

He began his career as the head of the Civil Defense Headquarters for the Jalal-Abad region, where he worked for six years.

He then held the following positions:

• From 1998 to 2000 — head of the Civil Defense Headquarters for the Talas region;

• From 2000 to 2002 — head of the Civil Defense Headquarters for the Chui region;

• From 2002 to 2003 — head of the Civil Defense Headquarters for the Osh region;

• From 2003 to 2005, he again headed the Civil Defense Headquarters for the Jalal-Abad region, where he served his people with honor.

In April 2005, he retired, but continued to work in the civilian sector in his specialty until 2009.

From 2009 to 2015, Amanbekov headed the Jalal-Abad regional branch of the Chernobyl Union.
