He emphasized that he and his like-minded associates are being portrayed as "field commanders" who allegedly intend to seize power; however, in his opinion, this is merely nonsensical fabrication.
Interestingly, the case was initiated on November 17, the day when Almazbek Atambayev responded to criticism directed at him.“From the very beginning, this case was fabricated based on false information. It was classified even before it began. On the very first day in the investigator's office, I was threatened with torture when I demanded the presence of a lawyer. My family and I were deprived of our home without trial; I was also subjected to an illegal travel ban, which prevented me from accompanying my father during his treatment. All my close friends and like-minded individuals were affected by summer convictions, and the headquarters and office of our party were confiscated in a raider-like manner.
I understand the true reasons behind what is happening. Throughout his political career, my father has survived five assassination attempts. The last one, when his car was shot at during the events of October, did not even serve as grounds for initiating a criminal case, and Almazbek Atambayev himself was accused of organizing the attempt on his own life. Unfortunately, we live in a country where mysterious deaths in detention centers and prisons have become commonplace.I have become a victim and a means of blackmail, which could lead to arrest and serious consequences for my father. I wouldn’t be surprised if the phantasmagoria of accusations leads to threats, including photographs with a gun to my temple, as I have already received threats of torture during the "investigative actions." What is happening has already crossed all boundaries of humanity,” wrote Kadyrbek Atambayev.
Let us recall that on November 23, law enforcement agencies conducted searches and detentions related to a case of possible calls for mass riots. The grounds for the criminal case were a video featuring politician Temirlan Sultanbekov, after which the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the start of investigative activities.
In the course of this case, several politicians and former officials were detained and interrogated, including Kadyrbek Atambayev, Shailoobek Atazov, Syimyk Japykeev, Kubanychbek Kadyrov, and others. Searches were also conducted at the homes of politicians and journalists, including former First Lady Raisa Atambayeva and relatives of Temirlan Sultanbekov.
It later became known that some of the detainees, including Temirlan Sultanbekov, Kadyrbek Atambayev, Shailoobek Atazov, and seven others, were placed in a temporary detention facility for the selection of a preventive measure. Others, such as Adakhan Madumarov and Syimyk Japykeev, were released after questioning.
According to Kadyrbek, the case against him was later reclassified to a more serious charge - "attempted violent overthrow of power."
