In his address to Babanov, Kadyrbek stated:

“Omurbek Toktogulovich, I respect you, but I must respond to the accusations against my father. Tolgonai Stamalieva has repeatedly mentioned that my father sincerely wished you success before the elections and even insisted on Jeenbekov's resignation, emphasizing the importance of democratic elections.”

“However, the situation changed when it became clear that the interests of another state and its resources were behind you. If you had sought the support of the people, rather than becoming a puppet in the hands of foreigners, my father would have remained neutral and would not have supported Jeenbekov so actively. The main thing for him was the independence of Kyrgyzstan.”

“After the revolution of 2020 and his release from prison, he simply wanted to spend his old age peacefully with his family and not get involved in politics. But you kept calling and persuading him to participate.”

“On the night of October 10, you told him that you would stand until the end, and that Sadyr Japarov was a ‘Bakiyev fraudster.’ You persuaded my father not to answer the calls of his friends and brothers who were trying to make contact. As a result of this support, my father spent another three years in prison, lost his health, and you betrayed him by starting to curry favor with Japarov.”

“At that time, you asked for forgiveness for your actions related to Nazarbayev and external pressure. I was there when we recorded your address to the people on October 9. And now you say that everything was different.”

“You claim that I am a deputy of the Bishkek City Council, but that is not true! I was the leader of the list, but we were illegally removed from the elections three days before the voting, through a closed court, because they knew that the people would see the truth. I was interrogated and persecuted. Such things did not happen to you with my father, did they?”

“The time of the opposition was easier when we could talk about freedom of speech and democracy. Today, everything is different. Your desire to ignore lawlessness is your personal choice as a businessman. I do not judge you; let your conscience judge you!”

“Moreover, I want to express my support for the ordinary members of the ‘Republic’ party, especially Mirlan Zheenchoroev, for their resilience and faith in principles.”

“I understand the pressure you are under, and I hold no grudges against you. I am sure that when the time comes to speak the truth about what is happening, you will show your best qualities and make a wise decision.”

Omurbek Babanov, the former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, commented on the statement of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev on his Facebook page. He noted that he does not want to participate in political disputes but finds it necessary to remind about the events of the 2017 elections.

According to Babanov, during that period, state resources were used in the interests of one political force. Doctors and teachers were pressured, forced to participate in campaigning, and campaigners were “taken to the mountains and beaten.” He emphasized that as a result, “the votes and hopes of 500,000 Kyrgyz citizens were stolen.”

“Thinking about the future and stability of the country, I decided to leave Kyrgyzstan and temporarily suspend the work of my team. During and after the elections, I made no statements that could divide society,” he added.

Regarding Almazbek Atambayev, Babanov noted that it is difficult to speak of fair competition when “one of his sons is in the city council, the other is in parliament, and they are running for elections again.”

“The main thing is to keep the country from new upheavals. Kyrgyzstan now needs calm, unity, and development,” concluded Babanov.
