According to the press service of Manas International Airport, the installation of a new Category III lighting system (CAT III) is currently underway, which will significantly enhance flight safety and the reliability of airport operations.
“With the CAT III system, it will be possible to receive and dispatch airliners in conditions of heavy fog and poor visibility, which greatly reduces the likelihood of delays and cancellations, as well as increases the stability of air traffic. However, the decision to land in each individual case will be made by the aircraft crew, based on current weather conditions and the capabilities of the aircraft,” the official statement says.
In addition, the press service clarified that the installation of the new lighting equipment is being carried out in accordance with international standards in civil aviation and is aimed at further modernization of Manas Airport.
