One of the participants noted that the plant has been operating unstably for about two years, and employees are only working three days a week. Workers were notified that while waiting for an investor, they must remain in place until July. Otherwise, they were offered to resign and take their settlements. At the same time, as employees stated, the payment of wage arrears depends on the submission of a resignation application.

The issue of the plant in Mailuu-Suu was also discussed at the last Kurultai. In response to a delegate's question, Sadyr Japarov stated that the state has already provided the enterprise with 1 billion soms, emphasizing that the authorities hope for its restoration and development.Additionally, at the end of 2022, then-Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov held a meeting dedicated to the plant's operations. It was mentioned that there were plans to repair the glass melting furnace and expand production capacities, as well as the intention to provide the country with LED lamps and glass products of local production. At that time, the plant was also granted a budget loan of 1 billion soms.
The plant, founded in 1967, produced up to 1 billion electric lamps annually by 1974. However, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, its activities significantly decreased. In 2003, the plant was sold to Russian investors, and in 2009 it was declared bankrupt and later transferred to the management of the State Property Management Fund.
