On December 30, the leadership of the presidential representative office in the Jalal-Abad region held a meeting with representatives of the Maiylyu-Suu Lamp Factory.

The first meeting was organized at the request of the presidential representative for the region, Nurlan Ermatov, who discussed the current state of the enterprise with the workforce and management of the factory.

While discussing the factory's activities, the participants touched upon issues related to salary payments and future plans. Currently, the Cabinet of Ministers is working on a draft decree that will address the salary arrears for the past three months. Payments are expected to begin only in 2026.

During the discussion, it was also reported that investors are being sought to support the factory's operations. Due to the temporary suspension of production activities, 550 employees will be sent on unpaid leave. Those who choose to resign voluntarily will receive appropriate compensation in accordance with labor legislation.

Ermatov also listened to the complaints and appeals of the workers, promising that all raised issues would be taken into account and solutions proposed.

The First Deputy Presidential Representative assured that the situation is under the control of the regional authorities, and they will continue to work on resolving it in collaboration with government structures.
On December 26, President Sadyr Japarov responded to a request from delegate Abduvakhap Nuraliev from Maiylyu-Suu regarding the restoration of the lamp factory during the People's Kurultai .

According to the president, 1 billion soms were allocated to the enterprise.

As explained by the Chairman of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliev, the factory was initially provided with a budget loan, but later it was decided to allocate the funds as a grant. "We instructed to rehabilitate the factory. Previously, state companies operated inefficiently, leading to bankruptcy and transfer to private hands. We are confident that the factory will operate. If the manager cannot restore it with 1 billion soms, then he is ineffective," noted Sadyr Japarov.

In August 2025, Turmush reported that the mayor of Maiylyu-Suu, Altynbek Jumayev, mentioned in a meeting at the representative office the presence of unsold products in the warehouse of OJSC "Maiylyu-Suu Electrolamp Factory" worth 262 million soms.

According to Jumayev, the demand for the factory's lamps has decreased, as previously the main products were sent to Russia and neighboring countries, while now consumers prefer Chinese products.

The presidential representative, Tilek Tekebaev, inquired whether measures are being taken to increase competitiveness. In response, Jumayev noted that modernization requires billions of soms, and the authorities have already presented the factory to Chinese investors.

The Maiylyu-Suu Lamp Factory began operations in 1967 and currently produces about 40 types of lamps, focusing on quality since 2018.

The decline in production activity in Maiylyu-Suu has become one of the reasons for the decline of local industry, which was also noted in the meeting.

In November 2024, Turmush reported on how the lamp factory used the 1 billion soms allocated from the republican budget.

At the meeting, reports on the enterprise's operations were presented, including the expenditure of 1 billion soms allocated from the budget. Discussion participants noted that these funds are planned to be directed towards modernization, the purchase of new equipment, and other necessary works.

In October 2022, the Ministry of Finance allocated a budget loan of 1 billion soms to OJSC "Maiylyu-Suu Lamp Factory" for the reconstruction and modernization of the "Ribbon" glass melting furnace and the purchase of equipment for glass container production.

The Cabinet's decree was issued on August 9, 2022, under the chairmanship of Akylbek Japarov.

The first tranche amounted to 400 million soms. The Cabinet of Ministers reported that the Maiylyu-Suu Lamp Factory will also produce glass containers for state enterprises.
