In the Chatkal district, white birches growing along the highway were cut down. Local authorities, according to experts, are not paying enough attention to green tourism.

Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Jalal-Abad Region, Urmat Samaev, shared this opinion at a meeting where the results of the work over the past nine months were discussed, emphasizing the tourist potential of the region.

He noted that the district administration should intensify efforts in the tourism sector. “During the road repairs in Chatkal, white birches were cut down. While it is nice that the road is now in order, it is also important to restore the forest strip. Local authorities need to strengthen their work in this direction,” Samaev emphasized.

During the meeting, information was also provided about the project "40 Districts - 40 Tourist Sites," under which new tourist locations are being created in the region, and work is ongoing to further develop tourism. However, there are still unresolved issues that require attention and additional efforts.
