In the Jalal-Abad region, there is a shortage of specialists responsible for price control. This became known at a meeting dedicated to issues of food security and ensuring the population's access to key goods such as meat and coal.

Present at the meeting were the deputy representative of the president in the Jalal-Abad region, Urmat Samaev, employees of the Main Department of the State National Security Committee in the region, representatives of law enforcement agencies, workers from the Suzak district administration and the city hall of Manas, as well as heads of sanitary and veterinary services and traders in meat and coal.

During the discussion, participants addressed issues of temporary state regulation of meat prices, ensuring the availability of coal, and preventing unjustified price increases.

It was decided that there would be constant monitoring of prices at trading points, and in case of violations of the law, appropriate measures would be taken against offenders.

The head of the regional department of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, Kanjirbek Ermekov, reported at the meeting that since the beginning of the year, fines totaling 55,500 soms have been imposed on entrepreneurs who unjustifiably raised prices. “Protocols have been drawn up against 15 entrepreneurs who inflated meat prices, and they have been fined a total of 55,500 soms. We are also monitoring coal prices and conducting explanatory work with entrepreneurs,” he noted.

However, it is worth noting that there is a lack of specialists for meat price control in the region. Our department has only five employees: one managerial position and one person handling paperwork. Three inspectors have been assigned to check the markets, one of whom has been on maternity leave for three months. As a result, only two inspectors are actually working, and they cannot cover all areas. We have requested additional staff positions,” added Kanjirbek Ermekov.

Currently, the market price for meat should range from 680 to 700 soms per kilogram.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, previously stated that there is a Cabinet resolution regarding the control and retention of prices for meat and meat products; however, this resolution is not being followed.

According to him, in some regions, prices for a kilogram of meat reach 800–900 soms, but there are places where it is sold for 700–750 soms. According to the Cabinet resolution, prices should not exceed 680–700 soms.

The head of the State National Security Committee also reported that he conducted an analysis of the situation. “It turned out that suppliers sell meat wholesale for 450–500 soms per kilogram, while sellers raise the price almost twofold. Therefore, we need to monitor prices. Sellers can add 50 soms, maybe 100 soms, and sell for 600 soms, but now the price reaches 700–800–900 soms per kilogram,” he commented.
