In the run-up to Christmas, one can engage in predictions about love and the future. The best period for such rituals is the Holy Days, which span from Christmas (January 7) to Epiphany (January 19).
During these two weeks, Orthodox believers consider the time particularly suitable for making wishes and divinations.
Card Divination

For this ritual, you will need a deck of cards, specifically four kings. Before going to bed, say the magic words: “My betrothed, my beloved, appear to me in a dream” and place the cards under your pillow. The king that you dream of will symbolize your future partner:
- spade king — older and jealous;
- heart king — a young person;
- club king — a wealthy man;
- diamond king — a person in love with you.
Wax Divination

You will need wax, a bowl of water, and a bit of imagination. Melt the wax in a water bath and carefully pour it into cold water. The shapes that form can be interpreted to reveal important events of 2026:
- heart — symbolizes relationships;
- face — foretells useful acquaintances;
- waves and zigzags — indicate obstacles;
- triangle — hints at intrigues;
- ring — signifies the creation of a family;
- cross — warns of troubles.
Mirror Divination

This ritual is considered one of the most mysterious. You will need two mirrors placed opposite each other. In the “corridor of reflections,” you will be able to see the desired person or event from the future.
Comb Divination

Before sleeping, gently comb your hair with a new comb and place it under your pillow. Don’t forget to make a wish about finding your love. In the morning, count the hairs on the comb: one — for a quick meeting, two — expect news from your fiancé, more than three — for the appearance of a rival.
Divination by Candle

This ancient divination will help you get answers to pressing questions. You will need a candle and a lighter. Ask your question and observe the flame. If the fire jumps, it means “no,” and if the flame is steady — the answer is positive. Important: after each answer, the candle should be extinguished and relit.
Outdoor Divination

On Christmas night, young people go outside and ask the first passersby for their name. According to beliefs, this will be the name of their future partner. It is also believed that the character of the passersby — kind, serious, or silent — can symbolize the traits of their future life companion.
