According to information from the AFP agency, the authorities of three Gulf countries — Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman — were able to convince U.S. President Donald Trump not to take military action against Iran. This statement was made with reference to sources in the Saudi Arabian government.

A government official reported that the "long and persistent diplomatic efforts" of these countries are aimed at giving Iran the opportunity to demonstrate its peaceful intentions.

He also noted that negotiations with the American side continue to "strengthen the trust achieved and maintain a positive atmosphere."

As previously reported by The Wall Street Journal, Arab states led by Saudi Arabia have urged the U.S. to refrain from attacks on Tehran, emphasizing that an attempt to overthrow the Iranian government could lead to serious disruptions in oil markets and negatively impact the U.S. economy.

The Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, also reported that Trump informed Tehran of his decision not to attack the country and called for restraint in response to possible provocations to avoid attacks on American facilities in the region.
