On the Bishkek–Osh highway, in the area of the Suusamyr Valley in the Jayil district of the Chui region, road inspectors continue to provide support to drivers. Due to the severe cold, many vehicles have become unfit for travel, and some have had tire blowouts.

This was reported to Turmush by the press service of the Traffic Safety Department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region.

“On the section of the road between kilometers 131 and 132 in the Suusamyr Valley, the temperature has reached -38 degrees. In such conditions, inspectors ensure road safety and are on duty at problematic areas,” the message states.

During the night from January 16 to 17, due to the frost, some vehicles were unable to start and continue moving. As a result, drivers found themselves in difficult situations, and inspectors provided them with the necessary assistance.

Considering the sharp deterioration in weather conditions, the department urges drivers planning long trips to exercise extreme caution. They strongly recommend adhering to traffic rules and taking measures to avoid emergency situations,” the press service added.

As of January 17 at 10:30, the temperature in the Suusamyr Valley and at the Töö-Ashuu pass is -41…-45 degrees.
