As of 9:00 AM on December 26, all major highways and passes in the country remain open, and traffic, including freight vehicles, is not restricted.
The agency clarified that snow is falling on the section of the road from Bishkek to Osh (Too-Ashuu pass) and on the highway from Suusamyr to Talas to Taraz, near the Otmok pass. Road services are engaged in clearing the roadway and treating the roads with a sand-salt mixture.
Clearing and treatment of all subordinate roads continues.
Drivers are strongly advised to take current weather conditions into account and to use winter tires and carry necessary safety equipment when traveling in mountainous areas.
