According to the press service of the Jumgal District State Administration, the Kyzart Pass is currently accessible for travel. Snow salting and removal work continues on the section of the North-South road from 159 to 243 km, where DEP-24 is ensuring the movement of vehicles and organizing duty shifts. The snow cover on the highway reaches 15–20 cm.
Adybek Nabiyev, head of the Jumgal District State Administration, held negotiations with the First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic, Talantbek Soltobaev. As a result of the discussions, it was decided to attract additional equipment to the Kyzart Pass due to heavy snowfall.
Earlier, Turmush reported that there was a lack of specialized equipment for road clearing at the Kyzart Pass.
On dangerous sections, road traffic accidents have led to the overturning of "KamAZ" trucks and the breakdown of other vehicles, as well as incidents where cars skidded off the road due to ice and became stuck.
Drivers are urgently requesting the salting of the road with a sand-salt mixture and its clearing with a grader.
