The decision was made due to the occurrence of snow avalanches
According to the Ministry of Transport, the section of the Karakol-Enilchek road between 38 and 112 km will be temporarily closed from December 10 to 12. This decision was made based on the order of the Ak-Suu District State Administration of the Issyk-Kul Region.
It is worth noting that six avalanches have already occurred on this section of the road. The possibility of new avalanches and snow drifts is forecasted.
“Currently, there is a strong snowstorm on the Karakol-Enilchek road, and road clearing operations are being carried out by the Road Maintenance Enterprise (DMP) No. 11.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications urges drivers traveling in mountainous areas and overpasses to strictly adhere to traffic rules and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters,” the statement says.
