As of December 18, at 09:00, the roads through the passes of Kyrgyzstan are open; however, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that there are restrictions in place for heavy trucks.
In particular, on the Toо-Ashuu and Ala-Bel passes, located on the Bishkek-Osh highway, temporary restrictions are still in effect. Snowfall continues, and road services are engaged in clearing and treating the roads with inert materials.
Additionally, as of 18:40 on December 17, restrictions for heavy trucks have been implemented on the Dolon pass, which is part of the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart route.
Moreover, the Karakoo pass on the Kazarman-Aktalchat road is closed until weather conditions improve. Alternative routes are provided for drivers.
The Ministry strongly recommends that drivers switch to winter tires, carry necessary equipment, and strictly adhere to traffic rules.
