According to information provided by the press service of the Department of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Osh region, the incident happened on January 19 in the village of Progress, located in the rural district of Tort-Kul. The time of the accident was recorded at approximately 14:10 on the 609.4 kilometer mark of the Bishkek–Osh highway.
Preliminary data indicates that the driver of the passenger car "Hyundai Sonata," born in 1993 and residing in the village of Jeyerenchi in the Jazy rural district, crossed into the oncoming lane while traveling from south to north. This led to a head-on collision with a truck "Howo," driven by a 30-year-old resident of the village of Pakhta-Abad in the Aravan district.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the passenger car, as well as two of his passengers—a couple born in 1985 and 1988, who are also residents of the Uzgen district—were urgently hospitalized at the Uzgen District Hospital.
Unfortunately, one of the passengers of the "Hyundai Sonata," born in 1949 and a resident of the village of Shoro-Bashat in the Tort-Kul rural district, passed away in the hospital.
Currently, investigations are underway regarding this incident, and the circumstances of the traffic accident are being clarified.
