In the Uzgen district of the Osh region, in order to preserve unique natural complexes and organize recreation for citizens of the republic and foreign tourists, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic established the state natural park "Kara-Shoro" by resolution No. 353 on August 2, 1996, covering a total area of 8,450 hectares. Of this, forest lands account for 263 hectares (3%), lands occupied by shrubs for 283 hectares (3%), pastures for 4,931 hectares (58%), and other lands for 2,973 hectares (35%).

According to a letter from the State Registration Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 27, 2016, No. 4-29-18/6592, the Kara-Shoro natural park, located in the Uzgen district, was granted a state act for the right of indefinite (without a specified term) land use for an area of 14,340 hectares. This area is home to 24 species of animals, 51 species of birds, and majestic fir, nut-bearing, and juniper forests.

The Kara-Shoro natural park is located at the junction of two great mountain systems: the Tien Shan and the Pamir-Alai.

A mountain river, Kara-Shoro, flows through the center of the park, flowing westward and having numerous tributaries. The most significant of these are Kachyraly, Kara-Bulak, Balom-Kaldy, and Chon-Kulubek.

The boundaries of the state natural park "Kara-Shoro" in the Uzgen district:

The starting point "A" is taken at the intersection of the cattle drive with the Jazy river.

1. The boundary from point "A" to point "B" runs along the Jazy river in a southeast direction of 63 degrees - the distance between the points is 6,000 meters, bordering the long-term use lands of the "Ak-Zhar" state farm.

2. The boundary from point "B" to point "C" runs along the peaks and ridges of the mountains in a southeast direction of 19 degrees for a distance of 2,800 meters and in a southwest direction of 86 degrees for a distance of 2,850 meters. The total tension distance from point "B" to point "C" is 5,650 meters and borders the lands of the "Alga" state farm.

3. The boundary from point "C" to point "D" runs along the peaks and ridges of the mountains in a southwest direction of 87 degrees for a distance of 3,500 meters, in a northwest direction of 63 degrees - distance 4,700 meters, in a southwest direction of 75 degrees - distance 2,250 meters, in a northwest direction of 46 degrees - distance 6,010 meters and borders the lands of the Kara-Kulja district.

The total length from point "C" to point "D" is 16,460 meters.

4. The boundary from point "D" to point "E" runs along the peaks and ridges of the mountains in a northeast direction of 66 degrees for a distance of 9,750 meters and in a northwest direction of 37 degrees for a distance of 2,250 meters, bordering the long-term use lands of the Kara-Kulja district in the territory of the Uzgen district. The total length between points "D" and "E" is 12,000 meters.

5. The boundary from point "E" to point "F" runs along the peaks and ridges of the mountains in a northwest direction of 9 degrees - distance 1,850 meters and borders the lands of the "Alga" state farm.

6. The boundary from point "F" to the initial point "A" runs along the floodplains of the Jazy river, upstream in a southeast direction of 39 degrees - the distance between the points is 5,250 meters, bordering the long-term use lands of the "Kainar" state farm.
Kara-Shoro Natural Park

The main forest-forming species of the park is the Tien Shan spruce - 245 hectares. The vegetation is represented by more than 800 species of flowering plants. The fauna includes roe deer, ibex, hares, foxes, wolves, and martens. Among the birds, there are grouse and partridges.

Representatives of the Red Book include the Turkestan lynx, golden eagle, and bearded vulture.

In the recreational zone of the park, a yurt village has been organized for tourists and vacationers. They can relax in national yurts and enjoy traditional dairy drinks. "Kara-Shoro" has a number of sources of mineral carbonated waters. There are more than twenty of them, with pure and gas-rich water, possessing a unique "iron" taste and healing properties. Many visitors come here every year to drink the mineral water "Kara-Shoro," which flows directly from the ground. The clean, cold, and very beneficial water is renowned for its healing properties not only among us but throughout Asia and Europe.
