At the meeting of the committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, reported that international donors will provide financial support to Kyrgyzstan in the amount of over $30 million. This became known during the discussion of the project "On the Ratification of the Agreement on Financing and the Grant Agreement for the Project 'Phase 1 for the Kyrgyz Republic' within the framework of the 'One Health' program," which was signed on July 11, 2025, in Bishkek with the participation of the International Development Association and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

According to Kerimaliev, the implementation of this initiative includes loan funds amounting to $30 million and a grant of $1.79 million.

“This initiative represents a large-scale project aimed at improving the health of the population, animals, and protecting the environment. Phase 1 includes three key components that are designed with the need to create and maintain the basic capacity of the system under normal conditions, as well as the functioning of critical mechanisms for detecting and responding to emergencies. This underscores the importance of a comprehensive approach to addressing global health issues within the framework of the regional 'One Health' program,” he noted.

The key areas of this project include combating zoonotic infections, preventing antimicrobial resistance, and ensuring food safety, added Zhanibek Kerimaliev.
