At the meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development on January 26, the chairman of the State Antimonopoly Agency, Jenaly Orozbaev, announced plans to introduce price regulation for contracts in universities. According to him, state regulation in educational institutions was abolished in 2016.

He noted that tuition fees have significantly increased, particularly in those universities where the cost of a contract was 50,000 soms, which has now risen to 100,000-120,000 soms. An analysis conducted also revealed cases of improper formation of the cost of educational services. As a result, directives were issued to KNU for the return of 23 million soms received unlawfully, and to the Academy of Public Administration under the President for 13 million soms," he added.
