Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov announced plans to optimize the work of state laboratories. This was the topic of discussion at a meeting of the committee on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues of the Jogorku Kenesh, where the draft law "On Medical Insurance for Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic" was considered.

In response to questions from deputies about the creation of accessible state laboratories, where the cost of tests would be lower than in private clinics, Matkerimov noted that work in this direction is already underway.

“We plan to build state laboratories in major cities and regional centers. Our task is to create a competitive environment for private clinics and make medical services more accessible and economical for citizens. Currently, expensive equipment is installed in state institutions, but it is underutilized, which increases maintenance costs. Additionally, there is a shortage of specialists,” he added.

According to him, in the new centralized laboratories, services will be free for insured citizens, while for uninsured individuals, the cost will be lower than in private medical institutions.
