The Bishkek City Hall commented on the recent statements made by the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Ulukbek Karybek uulu, noting that they do not reflect reality and may mislead both the public and the media. During a parliamentary meeting, the deputy claimed that "15,000 people live in the new building 'Ak-Zhar', and children from three residential areas in this district are forced to travel to the city for their education. In the official response I received from the city hall, it is stated that a school for 600 students was built in the 'Ak-Bata' area, where children can study. If this is true, then the municipality is deceiving not only the population but also the country's leadership."

The deputy threatened officials for ignoring the problems of the 'Ak-Zhar' residential area

Additionally, the city hall clarified that Karybek uulu requested information about plans for 2024-2025 for the Sverdlovsk district, including capital construction projects, project documentation, funding sources, implementation timelines, and approved projects for 2026.

“We provided complete information in accordance with his request. However, it is worth noting that the deputy did not ask questions about the number of children studying in educational institutions for residents of this area, or how many students attend the school in the 'Ak-Bata' residential area, where a school for 620 students operates. Currently, it has 48 classes with 1,735 students, of which 260 are in the old building. The educational process is organized in two shifts,” the city hall's message states.

The city hall also noted that the 'Ak-Zhar' residential area emerged as a result of land seizures, and at present, there are no available plots for building schools in this area. Various options for solving this problem are currently being considered.

“The issue was discussed at a meeting between Mayor Aibek Junushaliev and residents of the 'Ak-Bata' area on January 23, where they proposed considering the possibility of building a school on land adjacent to the Alamedin district. However, according to current legislation, the municipality does not have the right to build facilities outside of Bishkek,” the city hall concluded.
