Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu initiated this discussion
At a recent parliamentary meeting, Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu stated that complaints from citizens and local construction companies regarding rising housing prices and tariffs have been directed to the Jogorku Kenesh.
He emphasized: "The Ministry of Construction and Architecture sets tariffs independently, without coordinating them with the government and the Jogorku Kenesh. This leads to an increase in the cost per square meter of housing, making it difficult for the population to purchase homes. Therefore, next week the parliamentary committee must discuss this issue in detail and bring it to a plenary session. The public is dissatisfied, and it is necessary to restore order," noted the speaker.
Additionally, following the statement by the Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services Nurdana Oruntaeva that employees of institutions under the ministry receive salaries of up to 500,000 soms, there has been public outrage. The increase in tariffs in the construction sector and the rise in housing prices are also causing dissatisfaction among citizens.
