Deputy Gula Kozhokulova criticized the new rules introduced by the National Bank regarding currency exchange. She noted that for amounts exceeding 100,000 soms, confirmation of the origin of these funds is now required.

Kozhokulova emphasized that such measures create unnecessary barriers for citizens and businesses.

“Today, there are salaries of 100,000 soms, and even the Ministry of Construction pays amounts up to 500,000 soms. Thus, people will have to provide additional documents when approaching the bank for currency exchange. Why impose such restrictions and what is the point of digitalization if there is no informational support for small and medium-sized businesses?” the deputy pointed out.

She believes that this restriction is unreasonable and calls for discussing this issue at a meeting of the Budget Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh with the aim of abolishing the existing requirements.
