Licensing for passenger transportation in cars began on September 12, 2025. According to the cabinet's decision from December 3, 2025, the deadline for obtaining a license was extended to February 1, 2026.
Despite repeated warnings about the necessity of obtaining a license, the number of licensees remained low by December 2025. Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has intensified the licensing process in all regions. To date, more than 8,000 individuals and 300 legal entities have already obtained licenses.
Taxi licenses are issued at all divisions of the Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety.
