At the meeting of the "Mekenchil" deputy group on January 30, Kydyraliev suggested that the city administration should not rush into implementing the tram project outlined in the new city master plan. He inquired whether an analysis of the efficiency of this type of transport had been conducted.

In response, Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov noted that the new trams would not resemble the Soviet models that many residents think of.

According to him, the cost of constructing the monorail will be 70-80 million soms per kilometer, while the tram will cost 15 million soms. The project can be updated every five years, and the trams will move on an air cushion. Kadyrov also mentioned that similar systems are already successfully operating in Arab countries, as well as in China and Korea.

However, Kydyraliev emphasized that it's not just about the cost.

He stated: "We are losing a lot of time in traffic jams. It is important to implement transport that meets the requirements of 2050. If we save on this, we may miss out on progress. All calculations need to be made. Let's postpone the issue of trams. Don't rush into this. In 10-15 years, we will see significant technological breakthroughs. Ground transportation on wheels may become something outdated. We need to shift transportation to the air. In the future, we will walk or ride bicycles, and ground transport will lose its relevance," the deputy added.
