Will the houses on Sheraliyev Street in Bishkek be demolished?

"The road was included in previous master plans"

At a meeting with Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov, the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh from the "Mekenchil" group, Zhanibek Abirov, asked about the possibility of demolishing houses on Sheraliyev Street due to the upcoming road modernization.

He noted that residents whose homes may be at risk of demolition due to the planned widening of the street from Akhunbaev to Gagarin are feeling anxious. "Housing prices in this area are decreasing," Abirov added.

In response, the vice mayor stated that the city hall is openly informing the public about the changes.

“Previously, the road was indeed indicated in the master plans, but discussions were held in a narrow circle, and it was kept secret. People were unaware of the plans to widen the street. Now we are conducting open public hearings and taking citizens' opinions into account. The widening of the street will not start immediately, but it is included in the project,” Kadyrov explained.

According to preliminary estimates, about 100 houses in the area may be demolished as a result of the road works.
