The grand opening of a unique natural object took place in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region — a giant stone weighing over 180 tons, classified as a nephroid, has now officially become a new tourist attraction. This interesting object is located just three kilometers from the village of Chon-Kyzyl-Suu.

The history of the stone's discovery began in 2013-2014, when local residents accidentally noticed it. Its unusual shape and bright color immediately attracted the attention of geologists, who initially assumed it was jade.

However, experts later determined that the stone belongs to nephroids. Nevertheless, this did not diminish its scientific and visual value. On the contrary, the uniqueness of this mineral and its impressive size made it a potential magnet for tourists.

Unfortunately, after its discovery, the stone had to be buried due to the threat of theft, as it was of interest to resellers and collectors. Local residents have advocated for its unveiling and transformation into a full-fledged tourist attraction for many years.

A nephroid is a group of minerals similar to jade but of lower quality, often featuring cracks and weak coloration. This rock is used for making decorative stone, unlike jade, which is considered precious.
