In Osh, Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev, together with the heads of city services, conducted a morning raid on Masalieva Street. Attention was focused on the condition of the Zhekelik canal, particularly on the section from the intersection with Nurmatov Street to Shamsheev Street.

During the raid, the mayor instructed to create a landscaping project that would transform the banks of the canal into a full-fledged urban park. The plans include the arrangement of pedestrian paths, planting greenery, and creating a comfortable recreation area for residents.

The mayor also instructed municipal services to dismantle illegally installed commercial buildings located on the border of the canal or in its protective zone. City services must bring the area in line with architectural and environmental standards.

Toktorbaev noted that the appearance of this area has not changed for 70-80 years: the greenery has aged, the banks have deteriorated, the sidewalks have become narrow, and the canal itself is in a neglected state in some places. He emphasized the need to transform the area so that it becomes convenient, safe, and attractive for recreation.

The landscaping project considers two main options:
• creating a promenade along the canal;
• widening the road with reinforcement of retaining walls and updating the sidewalks.

The mayor suggested replacing old trees with new species, strengthening concrete structures, cleaning the banks, and implementing modern lighting and small architectural elements. "It is important to create a beautiful, reliable, and durable space that will become an integral part of the city, rather than an abandoned area," he added.
