The album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, presented by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, was recognized as the best. This event was historic as it became the first album in Spanish to receive such an award.
In the "Record of the Year" category, Kendrick Lamar and SZA won with the track Luther. Song of the Year was awarded to Billie Eilish for her composition Wildflower, while Olivia Dean was recognized as the Best New Artist.
Kendrick Lamar also won awards in four other categories: "Best Rap Album" (GNX), "Best Rap Performance" (for Chains & Whips in collaboration with Clipse and Pharrell Williams), "Best Rap Song" (TV Off with Lefty Gunplay), and "Best Melodic Rap Performance" (Luther).
Thus, Lamar, who now has 26 awards, surpassed Jay-Z and became the most awarded rapper in Grammy history.
Lady Gaga was also awarded two Grammy statuettes — for "Best Pop Vocal Album" (Mayhem) and "Best Dance Recording" (Abracadabra).
