
Sultan Raev, the people's writer of the Kyrgyz Republic, was awarded the I International Literary Award named after Ismail Gasprinsky. The award ceremony took place as part of the V Global Media Forum, which was held from November 6 to 9 in the Turkish city of Alanya, as reported by the event organizers.
The forum was organized by the Global Council of Journalists (KGK) and gathered over 310 media representatives from 41 countries.
During the ceremony, the achievements of journalists, diplomats, scholars, and cultural figures who have made a significant impact on the development of their fields were recognized.
Among the awardees at the V Global Awards were Afrim Gashi (diplomacy, North Macedonia), Professor of Medicine Ahmet Alanay (science, Turkey), journalist Sami Shehadeh (Palestine), as well as Mikhail Gusman (Russia), Reshat Majit (Azerbaijan), and Nur Viral (Turkey) in the "Media" category.
The award named after Ismail Gasprinsky was established this year to strengthen cultural ties in the Turkic world and preserve the ideals of the enlightener who called for "unity in language, deeds, and thoughts."
Ismail Gasprinsky (1851-1914) was a well-known Crimean Tatar enlightener, educator, and publisher who founded the newspaper Tercüman. He became one of the first ideologists of Turkic unity and a reformer in the field of education. His motto "Unity in language, thoughts, and deeds" became a symbol of the revival of cultural ties among Turkic-speaking peoples.
