
In the Issyk-Kul region, in the Jeti-Oguz area, a festival called "Protecting the Snow Leopard - 2026" took place, as reported by the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.
An important moment of the event was the opening of a new bridge and viewing platform located near the jadeite—a unique stone that has now been added to the list of local attractions. These sites have become a significant part of the region's development as a tourist zone.
Dinara Kemelova, the special representative of the president on mountain issues, noted that the snow leopard is a national symbol of Kyrgyzstan. The issues of its protection are in the spotlight as part of the Five-Year Action Plan for the Development of Mountain Regions, which covers the period from 2023 to 2027. The program includes:
