Duishenaly Toktakunov, who holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Drivers' Union of Kyrgyzstan, expressed the opinion that the driver training system has been operating formally for many years. According to him, this has led to accidents, corruption, and a lack of basic skills among many driving school graduates. This statement was made during a meeting with President Sadyr Japarov.

According to Toktakunov, there are 275 private driving schools in the country, where training lasts only 2-3 months, but the quality of this training leaves much to be desired. Many candidates are forced to retake exams multiple times, while some continue to hope for unofficial schemes.

He also noted that about 12 percent of drivers obtained their licenses through corrupt connections, lacking even basic knowledge.

Toktakunov added that the new examination system is now entirely based on artificial intelligence, making it impossible for human factors to influence the process. One can only pass the exam with adequate preparation.

In conclusion, he called on the public to support reforms in the field of driver training.
