The Bishkek City Court confirmed the decision to impose a fine of 10,000 soms on a woman who slapped her ex-husband. This was reported by lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov on his social media page.
The lawyer pointed out the unfavorable precedent for women: "The court upheld the decision of the Sverdlovsk District Court regarding the fine imposed on my client. Her ex-husband, despite receiving 16 warnings from law enforcement about the inadmissibility of violence, continued his actions. Unfortunately, these restraining orders did not provide adequate protection."
He added that the ex-spouse was sentenced to 4 years for abuse, but he was granted probation. Despite this, he continued to stalk the woman, ignoring the verdict and warnings," the lawyer noted.
