This measure is based on the updated Code of Offenses, which now includes Article 37 (note 1).
The obligation to retake exams will apply to those who have committed the following violations:
- driving a vehicle without state registration plates;
- ignoring a stop signal;
- exceeding the speed limit by more than 40 kilometers per hour;
- failing to yield to vehicles with flashing lights;
- entering the oncoming lane while overtaking or maneuvering;
- causing damage to road facilities or property as a result of violating traffic rules;
- violating traffic rules that result in injuries to people;
- transferring control of a vehicle to a drunk driver or a person without a driver's license.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes that this tightening of measures is aimed at improving discipline on the roads and preventing frequent violations.
