The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, has updated the decree "On the Introduction of State Monopoly on the Training of Specialists in the Field of Medicine."

According to the new provisions, private medical educational institutions that have passed accreditation can now enter into international contracts with universities in the USA for the joint implementation of educational programs in the training of doctors and pharmacists.

It should be recalled that by decree No. 250 dated August 28, 2025, a state monopoly on the training of medical specialists was established, and the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I. Akhunbaev was granted the status of a system-forming state university with exclusive powers to train specialists with higher medical and pharmaceutical education, as well as to retrain and improve the qualifications of medical personnel.

Furthermore, private educational institutions that have the necessary resources but do not meet licensing and accreditation standards can only engage in educational activities in the format of pre-university courses or educational-clinical bases under the full control and management of KSMU.

At the same time, the status of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin remains unchanged within the framework of existing international agreements.
