More than 11,500 Kyrgyz citizens received prosthetic and orthopedic services

In 2025, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration reported that more than 11,500 Kyrgyz citizens gained access to prosthetic and orthopedic services.

According to the agency, the number of citizens receiving such assistance increased by 7% compared to the previous year.

A total of 123 million soms was allocated for the activities of the relevant republican institution, which is 10% more than in 2024. This allowed for the implementation of new technologies and an increase in the number of citizens in need of mobility aids and individual prosthetics.

A large-scale modernization is ongoing at the institution, with 97.8 million soms allocated for this purpose. Contracts have been signed for the supply of modern equipment that meets international standards, as well as for the training of staff.

As a result, the production of innovative prosthetics for hands named "Kibi" and "Indi" has been established. These bionic and traction systems have been provided to 34 children, with the state covering 76% of their cost.

The "FabLab" laboratory from South Korea in Bishkek manufactured and delivered electronic hand prosthetics to two adult citizens.

In addition, specialists continue to improve models of orthopedic footwear and limb prosthetics, taking into account the individual needs of patients.
