According to information announced on February 11 at a meeting of the Bishkek City Council commission, the rental fees for users of municipal markets have increased by 20%. The chief engineer of the municipal enterprise "City Road Transport Infrastructure," Ulan Kurmanbekov, reported this.

According to him, this decision was made to facilitate the further development of the markets and was the result of negotiations conducted.

"The 'Dordoy' market increased the rental rate by 40%, while the 'Alkan-bazars' increased it by 20%," added Kurmanbekov.

He also noted: "We are raising taxes and tariffs. In the past, when the 'Oberon' market was in private hands, the previous owners intended to reduce the rental fee by 5%, but you decided to do the opposite." The deputy emphasized that such unfounded changes should be reviewed by the Antimonopoly Development Service.

He expressed dissatisfaction: "This is not the way to act. Please reconsider this decision."
