Kyrgyzstan has submitted a bid to host the AFC U-23 Asian Cup

The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) has officially appealed to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) with a request to host the U-23 Asian Cup in 2028. This championship is one of the most significant youth tournaments on the continent, gathering the 16 strongest Olympic teams from Asia.

In its bid, Kyrgyzstan presented a concept that includes stadiums meeting international standards, modern training bases, developed hotel infrastructure, and efficient transportation logistics. The KFU notes that hosting such a large-scale championship will help accelerate the modernization of the country's football infrastructure, enhance its international status, and attract youth to sports.

The competition for the right to host the tournament will be quite high, as besides Kyrgyzstan, bids have been submitted by Jordan, Japan, Qatar, the UAE, and Uzbekistan.

From March 2 to 6, an inspection commission from the AFC is expected to visit Kyrgyzstan. The commission members will assess the readiness of the local infrastructure, after which a final decision will be made regarding the tournament's location. The KFU considers this project strategically important for the development of national football and for raising the level of youth players on the international stage.
