The press service of the Bishkek mayor's office responded to reports about the non-functioning elevator in residential building No. 56, located in the 7th microdistrict.

According to information from the municipal enterprise "Bishkekgorlift," this building was transferred for technical maintenance in 2025 in accordance with resolution No. 197. The building, which has one entrance, is equipped with two elevators.

“One of the elevators is functioning normally, while the second is temporarily out of order due to outdated equipment and a malfunctioning control unit. Restoration work is currently underway,” the mayor's office noted.

Additionally, the mayor's office clarified that this building is included in the elevator modernization plan for 2026. During the repair period, residents will be able to use the functioning elevator.

The mayor's office also explained how the elevator fee is calculated. The rate is 8.31 soms per square meter of the apartment's total area, regardless of the number of elevators, as the service is still being provided.

It is worth noting that residents of the building previously reported that the passenger elevator has been out of service since November 2025. According to them, the freight elevator also frequently breaks down. They claim to have repeatedly contacted "Bishkekgorlift" and the mayor's office, but the problem remains unresolved.
