The Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute shared photographs of the total solar eclipse observed in the Antarctic region. The images were taken at the Vostok Station, as reported by Meduza.
The duration of the total eclipse phase was 2 minutes and 19 seconds, while the total duration of the eclipse reached approximately four and a half hours.
The time of maximum eclipse was recorded at 15:13 Moscow time, when the Moon covered about 96.3% of the solar disk, leaving only a thin "ring" edge.
The scientific institution emphasized that annular eclipses are a rare astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the Moon is positioned at a great distance from the Earth.
