On February 17, a letter of clemency from the president was received at the prison located in the village of Petrovka, based on which Azhiev was released the same day.
Recall that Azhiev was arrested in June 2023 on charges of organizing webcam studios. He attempted to leave the country, heading to the UAE through Uzbekistan, where he was detained. Additionally, a statement was received by the GKNB from E. A. regarding extortion. According to him, he worked as an operator of webcam studios and faced violations that led to psychological pressure from an administrator who demanded $2,000 under the threat of violence.
The subsequent court process in the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek resulted in the seizure of Azhiev's property, including apartments, houses, and cars, with a total value of 262 million soms, followed by confiscation in favor of the state.
As a result of the court proceedings, Azhiev was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
