The Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy has been tasked with organizing a competition for the best project of this map.
The map that will be installed is an important historical and cultural artifact created during the Islamic Renaissance in Central Asia. It emphasizes the significance of the heritage of Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani for the region.
Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani, who lived in the 11th century, was an outstanding Turkic scholar with extensive knowledge in the fields of philology, lexicography, and cartography. He was born in the city of Barskhan, located near Lake Issyk-Kul, and is the author of the famous work "Divan lugat at-turk" ("Dictionary of Turkic Dialects," 1072–1074), which serves as an encyclopedia of Turkic culture, language, and folklore.
