Today, during a meeting of the Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Subsoil Use, Ecology, and Environmental Protection of the Jogorku Kenesh, the head of the Agricultural Projects Implementation Department (APID) at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Regional Development, Tamchybek Tuleev, announced the allocation of grants for 100 rural municipalities (ayil okmotu). Each of these administrative units will receive $100,000 to improve the condition of pastures.

In total, there are 230 rural municipalities in Kyrgyzstan, and 100 of them have been selected for this project to receive funding for effective pasture management. These funds will be obtained from donors in the form of a loan.

As Tuleev clarified, of the allocated amount, $70,000 will be directed towards the restoration of pastures, while the remaining $30,000 will go towards additional activities aimed at reducing the load on pastures. For example, there are plans to create additional workshops for the production of animal feed, which will help reduce the time animals spend on pastures.

The head of APID also emphasized that the current state of pastures in the country requires immediate action. "The situation is serious, and measures need to be taken for their restoration. We are implementing projects in this area through our donors," he added.
