Residents of the private sector learned that their neighborhood is now an area for multi-story construction.

An appeal to the editorial office of Kaktus.media has been received from residents of the residential sector located between Shukurova, Suvanberdieva, Belarusian, and Skryabin streets, including Sonkulsky Lane in the Oktyabrsky district. They report that in the new general plan for Bishkek, the designation of their territory has been changed, raising concerns about the possibility of multi-story construction.

Despite appeals to the city hall, they have not yet received a response from the authorities.

The residents express concern that the new classification of the area may lead developers to pressure homeowners into selling their houses.

“Our neighborhood is not in the city center and does not belong to microdistricts; however, it is located in a favorable area.

We are satisfied with our place of residence and do not plan to sell our plots to developers; on the contrary, many of us are actively investing in our homes. Nevertheless, we know that construction companies are showing interest in our area.

One instance: representatives of a construction firm contacted one of the owners and claimed that they had already purchased neighboring houses, so she should sell her plot before they made her a “profitable” offer. The woman discussed this with her neighbors and learned that the information was false, after which she rejected the developers' offer.

Now that our neighborhood has become a zone for multi-story construction, we are afraid that construction companies will start to act aggressively,” the residents share their concerns.

There are fears that the change in the status of the area creates conditions for a “construction frenzy,” as if any construction company acquires a plot, it may build a multi-story building next to private houses, which would negatively impact the engineering communications of the entire area.

Local residents are appealing to the city hall to reconsider this decision.

We, the residents, ask the city hall to consider the possibility of excluding our neighborhood from the multi-story construction zone and restoring the previous status of individual residential development that existed until December 25, 2025.
